姜健,Google 软件工程师,致力于为实时通信优化视频编码的设计与实现。毕业于中国科学技术大学,随后加入纽约州立大学石溪分校。加入谷歌之后,主要工作于移动端实时通信VP9视频编码的加速与优化,实现部分ARM Neon汇编代码,评估硬件视频编解码器以及针对WebRTC使用场景对VP9可适性视频编码(SVC)进行优化。工作期间,在最小化编码质量损失的前提下,VP9在移动端的编码速度提高90%以上。目前主要工作集中在WebRTC中集成VP9可适性视频编码的支持。

For the challenging real-time encoding with software encoder, we have made important changes to VP9 to make it faster across different platforms including mobile devices. Those changes try to maintain the encoding quality advantage over VP8 as much as possible, while speed up the encoding with different speed settings, a plenty of speed features, and NEON optimizations on ARM devices. In this talk, I’ll discuss useful features and their technical details in VP9 for real-time scenarios and our recent work for SVC (Scalable Video Coding).
